The legal battle against Switzerland over the €17bn write-off of Credit Suisse’s AT1 bonds has escalated, with 39 new plaintiffs joining the lawsuit, according to a Financial Times article on Friday that cites an amended complaint filed in New York.
The amended complaint raises the claim’s value to more than $370mn, up from $82mn when the case was initially filed in June. Plaintiffs include US asset manager AllianceBernstein, which oversees $800bn in assets, and a subsidiary of Japan’s Nomura.
